Exotan Leather
From tanning mainly elephant, buffalo and kudu hides for leather
goods and antelope skins with hair on for decoration purpose, the
Exotan tannery has grown into a major non-bovine leather tannery in
the southern hemisphere with diverse African interests.
Exotan products are sought after in both local and international
markets. These products are obtainable in different finishes
suitable for the fashionable garment, shoe and leather goods,
automotive and upholstery industries.
Exotan is aware of the importance of a clean environment and
supports a constant drive towards the conservation of its heritage
and to preserve it for the future. A US $1 Million effluent plant
was commissioned in 1994.
Exotan was acknowledged by the Japanese Leathers Association as the
number one producer in the world of quality ostrich leather. This
acknowledgement proved that the quality team at Exotan was
successful with their "Quality First" approach and in their further
quest for zero defect, Exotan has been awarded an ISO 9001/2000
listing for quality control management.
